Having previously founded the social blogging site Soup.io, powered by Ruby on Rails, and scaled to over 50 million blog entries, he knows the in-and-outs of modern web technologies very well.

Before Soup.io he lead software development of easyname.eu, a fully automated PHP webhosting service.

Christian started his foray in the IT industry at the Technical University of Vienna, contributing to the core components of the Austrian social security card system.

After that he moved on to Nessus, where he helped bootstrap the company, created the core billing and provisioning systems and also worked on the easyname.eu subsidiary.

Michael has a strong background in system operations, learning his ropes at UPC Austria (formerly Inode) as well as Geizhals Preisvergleich.

In the last years he focused on the organizational aspects of software development and system operations (all things agile) as well as scaling out modern web applications. He's an active member of the PostgreSQL community.
